THE MESSAGE "REPLACE TONER" CONTINUES TO APPEAR ON THE SCREEN AFTER REPLACING THE TONER.


Look at the machine's screen and check the entire message on the screen. Is the color cartridge that has been replaced the same color as the one currently shown on the screen of the machine?

  • If yes, the color toner currently indicated on the device screen is the color toner that has been replaced, go to step 2.
  • If no, the color toner currently indicated on the device screen is NOT the color toner that has been replaced, it appears that after installing the replacement toner cartridge, a new message appears for a toner different color.

        A new ready-to-use toner cartridge must be installed to clear the error message. Brother strongly recommends using genuine Brother toner cartridges. Brother toner cartridges are manufactured with a reset lever that moves when it is installed in the machine and automatically triggers the machine to reset the toner condition.

 

Is a NEW ready-to-use toner cartridge (TN331 or TN336) from a sealed aluminum bag installed in the machine?

    - If yes, a NEW toner cartridge has been installed, go to step 4.

    - If no, a used toner cartridge has been installed, go to step 3.

 

A new ready-to-use toner cartridge must be installed to reset the toner condition and clear the error message.

You should NOT install a used cartridge that has already been installed on another device, nor a TN start-up toner cartridge supplied with the device.

Brother toner cartridges are manufactured with a reset lever that moves when installed in the machine. The movement of the lever mechanically triggers the machine to reset the state of the toner. If a used cartridge or TN starter cartridge is installed in a machine, it will NOT trigger the machine to reset the toner condition.

Brother strongly recommends that customers use only original Brother drum units and toner cartridges. Each Brother laser printer is designed to operate at pre-set temperatures that exactly match each of their toner formulations. Each individual component is designed to work together to ensure quality and reliability. Use of non-Brother supplies may affect the hardware performance, print quality, and reliability of the machine. The Brother Limited Warranty does not apply to problems caused by the use of third-party drums, cartridges, or toner cartridges.

 

Was "Replace Toner" NEVER cleared and immediately continued to appear on the screen after the new toner was installed, or was "Replace Toner" removed after installation of the new cartridge and reappeared at a later date after use?

    - If "Replace Toner" has NEVER been removed from the screen immediately after installing the new cartridge, go to step 5.

    - If "Replace Toner" is cleared immediately after replacing the cartridge, and then returned after some use, refer to: I recently installed a new toner cartridge and I do not think I have achieved the full performance of the toner cartridge. toner. What can I do ?

Check that the drum unit and the toner cartridge are correctly installed:

    a. Press the unlock button on the front cover and open the front cover by pulling it toward you.

    b. Grasp the green handle of the drum unit and pull the drum unit as far as it will go. You can now see the drum and toner assembly.

    If you can not remove the drum unit, make sure the front cover is fully open.

    c. Hold the handle of the toner cartridge and push it slightly toward the machine to unlock it. Then remove it from the drum unit.

    d. Reinstall the toner cartridge by holding the handle of the toner cartridge and sliding it into the drum unit. Match the color of the toner cartridge to the same color label on the drum unit and fold down the handle of the toner cartridge once it is in place.
